For Melbourne artist Meg, art has always been more than paint on a canvas - it’s a way to preserve the fleeting magic of childhood. Leaving behind a career in interior design, Meg took a leap of faith to follow the voice inside her that told her she was meant to create. Since the age of five, she has experimented with different materials, however, her subjects have always remained the same - children.

“I’ve thought a lot about why that is,” Meg reflects. “I think it’s because children represent the best parts of humanity -joy, wonder, curiosity, and pure excitement.”

Children see the world through fresh eyes, finding beauty in the simplest things. But as we grow up, that wonder often fades, buried beneath the weight of responsibility and expectations. Through her paintings, Meg seeks to hold onto that magic, capturing a child’s essence on canvas so it never gets lost. Her portraits don’t just reflect faces - they tell stories. They serve as reminders, not only for the children she paints but for their families and future selves, to reconnect with childhood and the authenticity of who we are.

Since taking that risk, Meg has built an international clientele, creating timeless heirlooms for families worldwide - Each piece is deeply personal, intertwining a family’s unique history with the individuality of the children she paints. “I aim to bring to life their personalities, passions, and dreams, preserving these fleeting moments,” she explains. “It’s a reminder, not only for them but for all of us, to rekindle joy and awaken our inner child’s spirit.”
